Motor Boat Charter
Yolo Alpha is available for skippered charter for up to 12 guests for full day or half day bookings or 4 guests on a residential basis for those who really want to explore the Cornish coast and beyond.
The boat has been a familiar sight for many years cruising around the local waters of Falmouth and the Carrick Roads. Wether your requirements are business or pleasure (or a mixture of both!) we can cater for your needs with a half or full day charter aboard Yolo Alpha.
A typical half day gives sufficient time to visit local ports and harbours like St Mawes and Mylor or The Helford Passage if you prefer, and then up the river past Trellissick House, the King Harry Ferry and then a superb view of Tregothnan, the estate of Lord Falmouth (currently used in the latest Poldark series) and then up as far as Truro if the tide permits. You can choose to stop wherever you choose for a snack or just to explore the surroundings its your choice, we do not run to any trodden path although we can suggest an itinerary if you prefer as points of access are always dependant upon the tide. Choose a window around the high tide and we can access all areas!
Full day charters give you the option to travel up or down the coast, we would recommend a trip based upon 20 to 25 miles maximum so that we are not listening to engines all day! A popular trip would be up to the east to Fowey, home to Dawn French and previously Daphne de Maurier, visiting Mevagissey or Charlestown en-route. It is however your choice and in the past we have done many different things from heading out to mid channel with some of the team from Odessy Explorer to gather data from a secret wreck site to taking a family of 4 to the Scilly Ilses for lunch. We could cruise all day if you wish, Yolo Alpha has a maximum fuel range of 200 miles but you have to remember that you are paying for the fuel and with a consumption of 1 mile to the gallon it can get expensive to travel long distances. We can however quote for any eventuality.
Residential Charters give you many more options and depending on the weather forecast and sea state we could go just about any where but suggest either to the west, Penzance, Newlyn and onwards to the Scilly Isles, or to the east Fowey, Plymouth and the south coast of Devon, Salcombe and beyond and in your own time!
